Hello, and welcome to life{illustrated}! We are Marshall and Emily, and our blog is home to our DIY adventures, photography, recipes, and more. We're so glad you stopped by and hope to see you again in the future!


After marrying in June 2011, we set a goal to pay off our student loans by August 2012.  It was a tight squeeze, but we made it with a few weeks to spare!  Along the journey, we learned that necessity is indeed the mother of invention, and we relied quite often on our creativity to turn our house into a home.

In November 2012, we moved to a new town so Marshall could pursue a ministry career. We now live in a parsonage (a home owned by the church), and we are slowly fixing it up. Since we don't own the home, there are a lot of things we can't do, like rip up carpet and tear down walls. Once again, we are relying on creative juices to spruce up our new abode.

With a little creativity and elbow grease, you can too!  We hope you find ideas on our blog that you can use in your own home or even share with others.
